TIM
Aves, the Armadillos’ charismatic, larger-than-life
frontman honed his craft during 16 years and nearly 3,000
gigs on the road with leading Essex r’n’b attraction
Automatic Slim,
joining the Barry brothers, Paul Lester, Jane English and
keyboard player Alex “Big Al” Murkin to form
the Armadillos, in 1995.
Inspired by magical blues showmen from the past and recent
times - Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, Stevie Ray Vaughan
and his friend, the late Lee Brilleaux, of Dr Feelgood,
to name just a few - he knows how to grab and audience and
keep it in the palm of is hand all night long.
One of the band’s main songwriters, Tim also plays
with Rob and Paul in the acoustic trio, Los
Tres Armadillos, and is well known on the UK blues scene
for hosting jams, MCing and DJing at regular Warner
Blues Weekends around the country.
